Originally
from England, I emigrated with my family to Vancouver and have lived in many
places throughout southern B.C., from Victoria to the Okanagan and Kootenays.
I moved to Lethbridge seven years ago but just discovered the Lethbridge
Artists’ Club this summer and am now a brand new member.
Although I have always been involved in different creative
crafts over the years and had always loved art in school, I only got brave
enough to try painting later on in my adult life. Once I started, I was
hooked and can’t imagine life without it. Except for a couple of beginner
classes, I taught myself mainly through books and then through YouTube videos
and online courses. I started off painting with watercolours for eight
years and then branched out to acrylics, only to realize quite quickly
that wasn’t for me. After I discovered oils though, I knew it was the
perfect fit. The subjects I enjoy painting are wildlife/pets and
