Julie grew up on a ranch just east of Waterton National Park, in the rolling foothills of Mountain View. The great outdoors was her playground in all seasons and for as long as she can remember she has had an appreciative passion for that beautiful area and its ever-changing vistas. This region remains one of her favorite places for artistic inspiration.
In 1974 Julie attended Grant MacEwan Community College in Edmonton, Alberta, where she studied commercial art. She has always loved the creative process and has honed her skill in watercolors by continuously taking workshops and courses. She has been an instructor herself for many years.
Julie has been a member of the Lethbridge Art Club, the Fort MacLeod Art club, the Claresholm Artists and Artisans Club, the Southern Utah Art Guild, the Desert Colors Studio, and the Dixie Watercolor Society where she received Associate status in 2018.
